This replaces the basic thermostat on your RV wall with a touch screen you can also drive from your phone, from anywhere. It has WiFi, Bluetooth and a built-in cellular SIM with GPS, so it is not dependent on campground WiFi to stay connected.

The use people do not think about until it matters: you can see and set the temperature in your RV while it is sitting in storage. Check on it during a cold snap. Turn the heat on before you drive out to it. Cool it down while you are still at the beach. That is the whole point of the cellular connection, and it is the reason to fit this rather than a plain digital thermostat.

It goes in plug and play on most existing RV thermostat footprints, runs on anything from 7.5 to 32 volts, and the app is on both iOS and Android. It also works as a hub for other Waltech smart devices, so a smart plug or a propane tank sensor can appear on the same screen.

Check the compatibility list in the specifications before you order. It fits most Dometic, Coleman Mach, Airxcel, Furrion and GE systems, but there are specific models it will not work with, and getting that wrong means an unnecessary return.
